I teach Vinyasa Flow, Modified Ashtanga, Rocket and Pregnancy Yoga in and around London.
I incorporate elements of Restorative and Yin yoga where relevant, and use breath as a central theme in all classes.
I found yoga through illness, in my late 20s. Before that I was a keen runner, competing in races all over the UK and Europe. I swam, boxed and pole danced. Glandular Fever hit me, and I was subsequently diagnosed with M.E/CFS, a debilitating fatigue (more info at Eat Yoga Sleep). At my most ill, Yoga was prescribed to me by my doctor.
M.E has taught me to listen to my body and to respect what it’s saying. Yoga has been an essential part of my recovery process and I’m pleased to say that I am now fit-as-a-fiddle and back to dynamic exercise, just this time without the trainers and on a yoga mat.
I very much hope you’ll join me there 🙂
If you fancy a local read, North Four ran an interview on me – North London Yoga Tour with Kate Oates – which goes through my journey that led to me becoming a yoga teacher, with some pretty cool local yoga spots thrown in there too!
